Generation 3 Prelude Big Brake Conversion - The Finished Result
So does it make any difference ? Well since fitting the kit I have driven some 300 miles to allow the brakes to bed in. My very first impressions where "Wow"! Such progressive pedal feel with none of the sponginess associated with the stock set up. Then there was the bite. very impressive. As they bedded in, the braking performance just got better and better. They work excellent from cold but work even better when warmed up! I have driven hard in order to heat up the brakes, and as yet using them on road I have been unable to raise the temperature of the caliper. Amazingly you can drive hard, stop, and the caliper is cold to the touch!
Then of course there is the cosmetic appearance…. Judge for yourself….

Any downside ???
So far only one, that is the pad I have chosen (Mintex 1144) squeals at low speed mainly when cold, but this is due to the pad compound and would be easily remedied by the use of a different pad. (I have since moved onto Mintex 1155, works much better).
Would I recommend it? – YES!… This is a must performance upgrade! Words & Pictures by
